We had a blast at Creative Play today! Some new friends joined us this morning, and we ended in time before the snow started falling. ๐
We painted with sticks, using green and yellow paints. I have a few different brands of paints that we use, but I really like Melissa and Doug Poster Paint. It cleans up so easily!
It can be challenging to pull toddlers together in a circle for songs, but sometimes it works out that they all are interested in joining along! Today, all kiddos came and sang with me. I pulled them in by singing the Good Morning song (uses each of their names, so that helps get their attention).
“Good morning, Danny
good morning, Danny
good morning, Danny,
We’re glad you came today.”
Then we all hopped in our boats (the adults’ laps) and sang Row, Row, Row Your Boat:
“Row, row, row your boat
gently down the stream,
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
life is but a dream.
Tip, tip, tip your boat
gently down the stream,
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
life is but a dream.
ROCK, ROCK, ROCK your boat!
Gently down the stream!
If you see a crocodile,
don’t forget to SCREAM! AHHH!”
After, we read the book, Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle.ย ย I have a really neat sliding flap book to reveal the different animals, and the kids loved helping me. ๐
Aaaand then the box of popsicle sticks were discovered – hahaha:
The kids loved playing in them… I think we’ll be bringing them out again in the future (but on purpose)!
